Points to Remember
Sunday, November 8th
Many persons deal with issues in a way that doesn’t work. Meaning some of us experience life as a series of problems to be solved. This can become an intellectual battle that pulls us down. Instead, we could allow ourselves to live life in a ‘no-problem’ mode, facing life as it happens, allowing it to be and not feeling we need to change it.
If we don’t see an issue around us as a problem, it is not a problem. It’s only a problem when we give it the mental construct that says it’s a problem. We can rather look back on every situation in our life and see it, not as a problem, but as a situation for our learning and growth. Living in this way is the first step to happiness. It leads us to humility, living in the flow, and helping us to live in the presence. When we see life in a ‘no problem’ mode, our entire mental focus shifts to one that is hopeful.
In order to have a harmonious life, it is important you not allow yourself to be upset when things don’t go the way you would prefer. Embracing three special attributes will go a long way toward bringing this about.
The first is to live with a spirit of acceptance. This means not requiring others to share your opinions or beliefs about what to think and to do. You can allow others to be themselves and, unless what they are about is harmful, just let them be. Even though their views or behaviors may not align with yours, you don’t consider it your mission to change them – or even to point it out to them.
The second attribute is non-resistance. While non-resistance is related to acceptance, they are different in a subtle way. With acceptance you focus on something outside yourself. You are accepting another person, their opinions or behaviors. Non-resistance is being at peace within ourself. In Matthew 5, Jesus talks about non-resistance in turning the other cheek, giving of your clothing, and going the extra mile. He is not telling us to be a ‘doorstep’ to others. Rather, he is speaking metaphorically and telling us to be at ease with life. When you have no expectation that something should be a certain way, or someone should do a certain thing, you have achieved an enormous measure of freedom.
The third attribute is forgiveness. It is not only that you have forgiven everyone for everything in your past and hold no ill will for anything. In addition, you have a forgiving heart that is prepared to forgive, knowing that incidents will arise – and that you are ready to let things go so you do not carry resentment or negativity toward another.
You can choose to live in a ‘no-problem’ world – and you can choose to live in harmony, accepting life around you, practicing non-resistance and having a spirit of foregiveness.
One other attribute is key. To feel love for every person, a love that aligns with your fundamental Love for all of Life and its Creator – a Love for God. With this, you truly move into the Divine Realm of Oneness with all of Life.

We hope you will join us online this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (Zoom will be used after the main service on Sundays, for a time to connect and have a virtual “Coffee Hour.”)
