“Seeing Things in Another Way”
The most important thing persons can do to improve their life is often something they ignore — to take charge of their mind. Jesus spoke to this in his very first parable, as Rev Ron Scott explains this Sunday at 10 am EDT.

At the end of the Services, on both Wednesdays and Sundays, the Zoom audio and video will be opened up to all who would like to connect with one another. As we do, it can feel a lot like when we interact in the Lobby after a Service. Know that, for those who choose, you can merely observe and not be seen or heard. We hope you will join us online this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (Zoom will be used after the main service on Sundays, for a time to connect and have a virtual “Coffee Hour.”)

Points to Remember for Sunday July 19, 2020
Seeing Things in Another Way
It is reassuring to know we are never locked into a certain way of thinking or believing- and so important to use our mind effectively.‘Mind’ (capital M) is a synonym for God as Spirit. Often we use the term “Universal Mind” in referring to God. When we say ‘mind’ (small ‘m’), we are speaking to our personal mind, which is a portion of the one Mind that is given to us for our exclusive use.
You are an individualized expression of God as mind. You are a point of expression of God-Mind. Sometimes we say that your mind is a point in the One Mind. As a result, everything that exists in or as the life of every person is the result of the use to which they’ve put this mind.
Each good thing that happens results from the right use of a person’s mind. Each “ungood” thing results from the wrong use of a person’s mind. Not taking charge of one’s mind is the wrong use.
In the parable of the seed and the soil, reported in Mark 4:1, Jesus even interprets his own story. The ‘seed’ is the freeing word of Truth. The ‘soil’ represents our mind’s willingness to receive Truth. The ‘path’ indicates the closed mind with no receptivity.
The ‘rocky ground’ symbolizes shallow thinking or lack of interest. The ‘thorns’ indicate a preoccupied mind that is filled with so many interests and activities, there is no time left for Spirit. The ‘good soil’ Jesus refers to is the receptive mind leading to an abundant harvest.
Your mind is the starting point of every thought and feeling. The action of mind is the most important factor in our lives because the activity of our minds is constantly shaping and re-arranging our world.
Universal Mind never vacillates, is perfect, whole, all-knowing and totally aware. Our mortal mind is constantly changing and filled with error. Why? Because we’ve seen ourselves as separated from God. Solutions arise as we allow Mind (God) to guide our mind and affairs.
